Prayer Stations and Prayer Requests April 28, 2008

A handful to times throughout the year, we use prayer stations in our United Methodist Youth worship experiences.  We’ve set up some stations for needs around the world, for Advent, and for specific things about our lives.  We typically will have our prayer stations set with an environment that is fitting for the experience.

Last night as we talked about how the Holy Spirit works in our lives together, we did something different.

We made our own prayer stations.

During dinner, we each filled out one or more prayer request slips simply stating things in our lives that we would like prayer for.  During our worship time, our adult leaders split them up into 4 areas and those became prayer stations that we rotated through and prayed for everyone.

That’s the church as it should be:  led by the Holy Spirit, praying selflessly for one another, and being focused on Jesus.

Here are some of the requests that came up last night:

  • College decisions, etc.
  • AP tests
  • Cheer tryouts coming soon
  • Mr./Mrs. Morrow’s baby and everyone else’s family.
  • Graduation
  • Sanity!
  • School/managing time
  • Various individuals
  • sports play-offs
  • parents
  • the end of school
  • help me do more work for God
  • more learning in school
  • friends
  • soldiers in war
  • graduating seniors
  • SAT’s
  • Life in general
  • living situations
  • Prom

  • safe work place

It’s time to get prepared for Summer camp at Epworth by the Sea! Mid-high camps are for students entering the 6th grade and entering the 9th grade.

Camp dates are:

Mid-High Mania 1: June 9-13
Mid-High Mania 2: June 16-20

We are encouraging our students to register together for week 2 (June 16-20). It’s okay if this is not possible for your schedule, though.

Mr. Jim worked at these camps while he was in college and he believes that these camps are one of the most valuable treasures of being a South Georgia Methodist!

We’d love for you to join us. Download the brochure, fill out the registration, make your check payable to “Connectional Ministries,” and bring them to Jim! He’ll turn them all in together.

If you are curious as to who else is going so that you might request roomates for your camper, please contact Jim. Stay tuned for more info!
