Each Sunday during the summer we load up the vans for a trip to Epworth by the Sea, a United Methodist retreat center on St. Simons Island. Where are we going? We are headed to the Gathering Place’s Main Event!
The Gathering Place’s Main event is “a throng of teenagers 1,000 strong in one room, at Strickland Auditorium (Epworth By the Sea), for a Sunday night of lights, music, laughs, and teaching. The Good News of Jesus Christ is shared every week by some of the nation’s most gifted communicators.” Our youth have loved the Gathering Place for many years and it is one of our summer-time staples.
We meet at the church at 5:15pm, and depart at 5:30. We eat supper together on the road, so students need to bring a few dollars with them. We leave the Gathering place and return home by midnight. Join us! Bring some friends!

Remember that Youth will be at the First Presbyterian Church this week. That’s the big white church across Osborne St. from our church. We will have a Methodist vs. Presbyterian denomination showdown!
